Pockels Cell Drivers - FDL Series Pulse Generators

FDL series drivers have a compact modular design which makes it easy to place them right next to a Pockels cell with a capacitance of 4-6 pf. Connection is made by two 5-10 cm wires which results in a highly compact design which is essential for industrial applications.

Pulse generators of the FDL series form voltage swings or voltage pulses of rectangular shape, the amplitude of up to 8 kV and pulse duration from 10 ns to several microseconds. Rise time and fall time are about 3-5 ns, maximum pulse repetition rate (PRF) is 5 kHz. Typical dimensions of the FDL driver are 100x100x50mm.

Modular pulsers require the input DC voltage of 400-500 V. Adjustment of the output amplitude in the range of 70-100% is done by the changing of the input voltage from 400 to 500V.

For forming of a voltage swing with the rise time of 3-5 ns and the pulse duration of up to several microseconds a single triggering pulse is used. A triggering pulse should have the amplitude of 20-30 V, the rise time of 10-20 ns and the pulse width of 100 ns.
